The Zoning Board of Appeals is authorized to grant dimension variances from the zoning ordinance, and, upon request, may interpret questionable provisions of the zoning ordinance. Variances should be based upon practical difficulties or unnecessary hardship in strict compliance with the zoning ordinance.

A hearing has been requested for a parcel of land located within Presque Isle Township.  The hearing has been requested by and for the following: Jeff Donajkowski of 9620 Lake Street, Presque Isle, MI, 49777, parcel no. 122-185-000-013-00. The applicant is requesting a variance to build a 20×16 accessory structure (gazebo) with a 34-foot setback from the ordinary high-water mark vs. the 50-foot setback required in the Zoning Ordinance.
